🪷 Best Indian food in Sarasota 24 years! Mother owned family restaurant + Unbelievable authentic dishes. If you want Indian food, this is the place!

We were on vacation in Sarasota and decided to walk into Tandoor’s on a Sunday evening and wow, what an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. The hostess was kind and seated us right away. Our server, Justin, was absolutely phenomenal. He walked us through the menu with such enthusiasm and detail that I genuinely wanted to order everything! He patiently answered all our questions and made us feel completely at ease. We started with the meat platter absolutely delicious. The samosas were a standout for me, perfectly crisp and flavorful. We were also treated to complimentary crackers and sauces, which were a lovely touch and set the tone for a great meal. For our entrées, my husband chose a lamb dish, and I went with the butter chicken. Let me just say — the butter chicken sauce was hands-down one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The portions were generous (hello, leftovers!), and my husband couldn’t stop raving about his meal either. Tandoor’s is now my favorite Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

Eagerly awaiting this weekend's lunch buffet to celebrate our anniversary, it's always such a special place. The ambiance and service particularly from Justin, our server was fantastic, very attentive, and brought us extra vindaloo spice when I asked if I could add some more heat to my wonderful chicken curry (I like a 4/5 spice level to my food sorry). That said the dishes are varied from veggie bhaji (veggie fritters) and eggplant curry (has some nice spice to it, complex flavor) to exotic (goat curry) or just all out incredibly luxurious Butter Chicken! On the sweet side, I always opt for the mango lassi (yogurt) drink that help put out any fires🌶️ 🔥 and the Kheer rice pudding for dessert, which appears very simple at first but has very complex flavors, like cardamom and maybe even rose? We've been in love and in love with Tandoor for years

We love coming to this restaurant. Tonight we brought our friends and family, a large party of 17, to celebrate a birthday. Everything was spectacular. The food was actually better than usual, which is always very delicious! The service was excellent. Justin and Sam were our servers and they both were fantastic and quick. The food came out on time, we didn’t have to wait long even though we had a larger party. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and the whole dining experience. Thank you Tandoor restaurant and staff for providing a great birthday experience for our loved one!!

Really fabulous place. Go here over any other Indian restaurant. My dad went today by himself and had an exceptional meal and met the female owner. We will have many meals here. Thank you!
