Masjid Al-Jabbar

During my recent trip to Bandung, I had the opportunity to visit the newly constructed Masjid Raya Al Jabbar, a grand mosque located in the Gedebage area. Also known as the “Floating Mosque”, this architectural marvel stands out not only for its religious significance but also for its futuristic and eco-friendly design. The mosque is situated beside a large artificial lake, creating a unique reflection of the mosque’s domes and minarets on the water—especially beautiful during sunset. Architecturally, the mosque combines modern Islamic geometry with Sundanese design elements, creating a peaceful yet awe-inspiring atmosphere. Its vast prayer hall, adorned with minimalist patterns and natural lighting, can accommodate tens of thousands of worshippers. Accessibility is excellent, with ample parking space, clean toilets, prayer facilities for women, and ramps for people with disabilities. Security and cleanliness were consistently well-maintained throughout my time there. However, as the mosque has recently become a popular tourist attraction, it can get very crowded on weekends and public holidays. I recommend visiting during weekdays or early in the morning for a quieter experience. In conclusion, Masjid Raya Al Jabbar is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of modern Islamic identity in Indonesia. It offers a tranquil and meaningful experience for both locals and visitors alike.

A very large and grand masjid located in Bandung. The scale of the masjid is massive. The architectural design is unique, with a large bridge and courtyard. The masjid also sits inside a small lake. The interior is very beautiful too, with calligraphy and decorations. The masjid also has an Islamic history museum in the basement, containing a lot of interesting artifacts.

Masjid Raya Al Jabbar is an impressive and grand mosque with stunning architecture that showcases exquisite design and elegance. The spacious parking area and serene surroundings create a tranquil atmosphere that soothes the heart and soul. It is a magnificent place for worship and reflection, offering a peaceful and welcoming environment for all visitors.

Interesting architectural design for a mosque in Indonesia. A modern look thats amongst the most expensive construction budget in this time. Its a pity they don’t do proper maintenance to the pool outside.
