I am writing here to complain and warn everyone about the four men from Masjid Omar on Busch Blvd that approached my personal residence on 4/25 at 7pm. They found me by looking up local county records of Muslim sounding names and approaching my residence in pursuit of looking for "Muslim men to join their mosque". Fine but when I told these men, "There are no Muslim men here" they proceeded to ask me intrusive questions on if I'm married and if I live alone here. What part of me saying there are no Muslim men here isn't enough to leave my property and go away? Is it not inappropriate and creepy enough that I'm a single female standing alone outside my parked car and these four Dawah men are asking such intrusive questions while standing on my footpath to my door? This experience has shaken and frightened me. It's not ok for any woman to have men show up unannounced at their home, asking for Muslim men to join their mosque, and when told no Muslim men are here to continue their intrusive inquiry into personal matters. Masjid Omar if you are seeing this - know your men have successfully made me feel unsafe and insecure in my own home.

Men from this masjid harassed my friend, a young Muslim woman, at her own home asking her very inappropriate questions in a threatening way making her feel incredibly unsafe. Without proper handling of this matter, I would avoid this masjid until they take their faith more seriously, respect and support women (practice what you preach, come on), and reprimand and teach these (and all) the men in their congregation proper behaviour.
